Andretti Green Racing’s going to Brazil with its Acura LMP2 prototype. Way to go. Murphy’s impressed with that willingness to compete. Now let’s all hope more than just a token number of the thirty or so LMS team rumored to be planning to participate in the Mil Mihaus will make the stop-over in Georgia. Murphy thinks that thirty headed for Brazil is, ah, ambitious. Will Petit draw a half-dozen LMS entries?

Uninformed Slam

A partner in a part-time ALMS race team slammed Mosport for not being safe. That statement was then given credence by a writer’s reference to BMW’s 1999 withdrawal. If the track was anything like it was in 1999, safety would be an issue, and the comparison would be apt. It isn’t. (more…)

Oliver told the Walrus, the Walrus told the Bear, and the Bear is telling you. The Ford GT is homologated, will be testing in six weeks, and is a possible entry at Laguna Seca.

Champ Car – ALMS Connections?

Murphy heard in May that there had been offers over the winter for the American Le Mans Series. That interest – perhaps even talk – has continued. Now the Paddock Poop is that those talks have turned around. That the hunted has become the hunter.
