Yes, he’s back from Mexico City, (the Bear was a little worried) but here he is, with more unique insight into the soft underbelly of sports car racing.-Murphy-

Had a great time down in Mexico. A little problem with the passport, but nuthin a couple of Daytona News-Journal coffee mugs couldn’t fix. And more people spoke English in Mexico City than in Homestead. Go figure. (more…)

83. Murphy does LA, er…ah…LB

Well, Murphy’s back from Long Beach, and has to admit he was impressed. There were lots of fans around, sometimes even making it tough for a small bear to get around. Nor did the crowd have any problem finding the ALMS paddock. The SoCal fans were all there at the end of the race, too, even if the Long Beach boss doubted their attention span. This is just before the checkered flag.

Big Bill, What was you Thinkin?!

Murphy’s got new stuff Friday morning. Murphy hears that Simon from Poitiers, one-time big time rookie of the year, will join the Brazilian in an ALMS cockpit soon; news at noon Friday. 

Well, A.C. is back with his second installment. If you missed the first, it would be a good idea to check it out here. Before you do, though, if you’re an open wheel racing fan, you should know that a big time Champ Car driver is close to an IRL contract. They’ll be dancing in the streets of Toronto. Ok, now you can enjoy A.C.-Murphy-

82. What about EVO? Awsome stuff. The new Proto is near.

They – just about everybody – say the EVO rules are “dead.” Since we haven’t yet seen an EVO rule, it’s hard to know what needs a burial. Do the current open and closed top prototypes remain legal after 2009? Probably. The devil is in the details, of course, so how competitive they will be is far less certain. (more…)
