115. Third Annual Sebring Prototype Punter’s Guide

The line is for the overall win – even though it’s no longer (by de facto rule) one big class, it’s a small enough field to give three P2 entries at least a long shot. Murphy still likes Audi.

Lucas + Marco got the ALMS champs No. 1. Is this the year Sebring mantle passes, too?

Audi’s masters – TK, Nishy, Dindo – have had mastery over young mates. One more time?

Minassian carries Klien & Lamy. Peugeot finally experienced, but now hardware is behind.

Best shot? If Manassian joins Sarrazin & Montagny here. ..

Not the way it is, though.

2-1

Brabham clear leader, Sharp builds on 2008, Franchitti solid addition. Is car laggard?

Autocon

Drivers experienced gentlemen but not on the pace in this field. Neither is the Lola.

50-1

Need to avoid errors of 2008. With 2008 rules were close before airbox leak

Chris and Guy add Andy Lally. Third driver will help. This is not your father’s BK Mazda.

Hmm, seems a bit generous on the Mazolas given how they’ve done so far in testing.

  2. wrestlerrob says:

Especially the 16. I put that one at 30-1 at best.

  3. murphy says:

Odds do not contemplate everyone finishing the race. No. 16 was 4th overall last year; 20 was second.

The AER turbo just got a restrictor break. The Peugeots are French. If 16 is 30-1, what does Murphy give to 37? 80-1? Guy Smith, Chris Dyson and Andy Lally. Not bad in the Bear’s book. And that ain’t no BK operation, either, is it?

Hey Murph. Love the blog as usual. Interesting picks, I hate to do this but I was wondering if you could check out my blog, perhaps tell me what you think. It isn’t ALMS-specific, but the ALMS is my favorite series. I call it the Tony George Fan Club (the reasons why will become increasingly evident as I continue to post/blog). I consider myself an aspiring racing journalist (going to radio broadcasting school next year) etc etc etc. The blog will be mostly opinion, loosely based on fact and knowledge I’ve picked up on the way. Again, check it out and provide criticism and opinions and such on my work. http://tgfc-racing.blogspot.com/
Many Thanks (and apologies for posting this question in a not-so-private forum),
    Chris

I think 80-1 is about right for the 37.

  6. harmanrk says:

At that rate, the Corvettes should be about 50-1 for an overall.
