Audi to join Peugeot?

Peugeot’s “in” for sure for PLM, announcement and everything. Better yet, there are more and more hints that Audi Sport has asked to “go for it” against the French diesel in Georgia and California. Murphy thinks the answer will be yes, but it’s not certain. (more…)

Breaking the Bear’s Rools

Murphy’s breaking a long-standing rool by doing so, but he thinks this item is interesting enough to pass along from the americanlemansfans.com forum: Poster sullystable reports he was told at a visit to Lou’s Wylie, Texas shops that the No. 28 Corvette is being prepared to compete at Petit Le Mans after testing at Watkins Glen. Murphy has just one question. Why will the Texas-based team test in New York before a race in Georgia? Perhaps Lou will drop the Bear a line. He’s got the address. (more…)

A little background. On Friday, the Bear got a call from a trusted source, the gist of which was that “Bernie is out.” The email came from someone who knew Murphy was “sitting on it.” (more…)

Another direction?

Soon after Murphy met with  A.C., he was told that some “in the Grand Am camp” claimed discussions (either with other topics, or exclusively) concerned a track sharing, or joint events, between Grand Am and ALMS very much along the lines proposed by Katrina Flood at Last Turn Clubhouse in early May. Was Katrina (who has “broad” connections in motor sport) floating something for someone else? (more…)

Murphy called his friend A.C. “I’m hearing some interesting stuff. Can we talk?”

“So am I, buddy, so am I. Sure. But not over the phone. Can you meet me?” was the response from NASCAR’s favorite local scribe.

“Sure, where?” asked the Bear.

“I hear you’re in town on business, I’m near Hooter’s on International Speedway…across the street, actually. Can you meet me there?” asked A.C. (more…)
